Call to Action:

In a joint memorandum to members, President Ken Pruitt and Speaker Marco Rubio announced the Legislature will convene for a Special Session on Wednesday, October 3, 2007, through Friday, October 12, 2007 to address reducing state spending. Therefore, all FASP members are encouraged to contact their respective legislators at this time. Your visit to the local office or personal telephone call will reinforce FASP's position as follows:

  • Support Florida Department of Elder Affairs’ Secretary E. Douglas Beach's recommendation to cut General Revenue funds from not yet fully realized projects instead of decreasing funding for current direct service provision.

  • Johnnie B. Byrd Sr., Alzheimer's Center and Research Institute
